St. Peter’s Day 4

We can’t believe we have now completed our final full day over in Arran!

The blue and green groups with Mrs Browne and Mrs Docherty headed out for some seal watching today in Kildonan and managed to spot a few! We then journeyed to a waterfall where we had great fun splashing about as we all stood underneath the waterfall. We were glad to have our wellies and waterproofs! We also had our turn to plant some apple trees in the orchard which has been created in Whiting Bay for all members of the community to use.

Meanwhile after having a fantastic night staying at Cloudbase, Miss Buchert and Miss Shaw’s groups enjoyed a woodland walk on the way back to the centre. We enjoyed some time to explore nature by building a shelter and even did some ‘tree hugging!’ After lunch and a change of clothes, we were back out into the forest again for our survival game where we took on the roles of slugs, voles and owls to see who were the top predators.

The work wasn’t over yet when we had some time to create some poetry and art work to reflect on everything we have enjoyed and achieved this week.

We concluded our final night with a bang by enjoying a delicious Christmas dinner and dancing the night away at our disco! It has been an exciting week and we are looking forward to going swimming tomorrow before heading to the ferry for home. This is all after we tidy our dorms, strip our beds and clean our walking boots of course!

Bye for now, see you all tomorrow!
